PMC to offer 20 year warranty on loudspeakers to mark its 20th anniversary

To mark the 20th anniversary of the founding of the company, PMC, leading manufacturer of domestic and professional loudspeakers, is to extend the warranty on all its passive loudspeakers to 20 years from May. 

Already one of the class leading warranties at five years, the extension to 20 years reflects the confidence that the company has in its design, build and testing procedures. The new warranty will be backdated to 1 January 2011 for all purchases of passive loudspeakers, providing they have been registered with PMC. 

Designing and assembling all its loudspeakers in its own facility in Luton enables the company to keep a very tight control on its quality procedures. Every single component that is used, from the smallest resistor or capacitor, to the drive units, which are built or specified to PMC’s designs, through to the loudspeaker cabinets, is rigorously tested before being passed for use in the products. Resistors, capacitors, inductors and other crossover components are all individually measured, graded and sorted to ensure absolute component value and performance matching. Each drive unit, whether it is the 25mm done tweeter used in the domestic loudspeakers, the 450mm radial bass unit for the BB5-XBD flagship or the renowned 75mm midrange dome is also tested and matched before use. Records are kept for each and every pair of speakers built to ensure that in the rare event of replacement parts being required, an identical component can be supplied. 

It is this passionate attention to detail that has brought PMC the successes and recognition it has gained over the last 20 years. For this reason, the company feels confident to offer its customers a 20 year warranty on all new passive loudspeakers.
