PMC Lends its Support to the Teenage Cancer Trust at the Royal Albert Hall
For the second year running, PMC is lending its support to the Teenage Cancer Trust concerts taking place at the Royal Albert Hall between 28th March and 3rd April, by supplying its renowned professional studio monitors for the mixing and recording of the series of concerts for broadcast. PMC is joining with all the other equipment providers by waving its fees for rental and use of its products to help the charity save money, enabling more funds to be directed towards the work that the Trust does for young people with cancer.
Mix and recording engineer Gareth Johnston of Stand Alone Productions (Suede, Noel Gallagher, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra) will be using a pair of the company’s AML2 active monitors to mix the recording of each night’s concert in preparation for use by the world’s broadcasters the next day. || Over the seven nights concert goers will be entertained by Pulp, Florence & The Machine, Paul McCartney, Paul Weller, Jessie J and Roger Daltry. The Teenage Cancer Trust concerts were started by Roger Daltrey CBE in 2000 and the have become a major fixture of the Royal Albert Hall's calendar, helping the Trust raise money for the vital work it does to help the six people aged between 13 and 24 diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK.
Miles Roberts, PMC managing director, said "In 2010 and 2011 the Teenage Cancer Trust raised nearly £12 million to fund the provision of specialist units within NHS hospitals for teenagers, its research work to help improve survival rates and education for young people and health care professionals. PMC is delighted to once again be able to help this very worthwhile cause by joining with all the artists and staff in giving their time and services for free to help contribute to the success of the concerts, which have so far raised £14m, and the magnificent work that the Teenage Cancer Trust does."
