New PB1i Signature

PMC will be using its appearance at the Sound & Vision Show, Bristol, on 25-27 February, as the global launch for the latest addition to its special edition Signature Series, the PB1i Signature.Following the positive response across the world to the FB1i and TB2i Signature models and many requests from customers, the company has decided to give the PB1i the upgrade treatment. Peter Thomas, founder and owner of PMC, has re-worked the 24dB crossover to provide even finer detail and transparency to the mid vocal range from the professionally proven 75mm soft-dome driver. Coupled with the high frequency output from the PMC/SEAS developed 27mm tweeter, the PB1i Signature has the ability to reproduce every nuance in the performance. As with all PMC’s loudspeakers, each component in the 31-element hand-built crossover is carefully selected, measured and recorded to ensure perfect performance and conformity to the original design.PMC’s research into drive unit design produced a 170mm bass driver specifically for the PB1i, with an ultra stiff lightweight cone and huge magnet assembly. With two units working in tandem in a newly developed Advanced Transmission Line (ATL™), the low frequency output of the PB1i is very clean, fast and exceptionally extended, right down to 24Hz.Supplied with a personally signed certificate of authenticity from Peter Thomas, each PB1i Signature comes with a brushed aluminium serial number plate. The handcrafted, British made cabinets are finished in a distinct and rare Rose Palissandre veneer, only available with the Signature Series products. The first Signature models came with a 10 year warranty, double the norm, to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the production of the original versions and this has been carried over to the new PB1i Signature, such is the company’s confidence in the build and engineering quality.
