PMC's Ross Gilbert

PMC is recruiting Ross Gilbert to the sales and marketing department to support its continued growth through overseeing the logistical organisation of the company’s increasingly busy exhibition and show schedule, training activities and customer product demonstrations.  He will work across both the consumer and professional recording studio divisions of the business.

Recently with Sevenoaks Sound & Vision as manager of its Cambridge store, Gilbert comes to PMC with an impressive track record that spans the studio, record label and consumer hi-fi retail sectors.  At Sevenoaks he was responsible for the personnel management, shop management and marketing functions of one of its busiest stores outside Greater London, a position he took after seven years with the Cambridge-based hi-fi shop Audiofile.

Prior to this Ross worked as a freelance sound engineer at a local recording studio, assisting with studio sessions and equipment set up and monitoring duties for live events.  His marketing credentials were established at underground Drum and Bass and Hip Hop label Audio Danger Records, where he was responsible for the business’ web and social media strategy. He continues his hands-on involvement with music as a part time DJ.

Miles Roberts, managing director of PMC, says, “With the continuing growth demonstrated across all markets and business segments we welcome Ross as a valuable and much-needed support to the very busy sales and marketing department.  Coming from a hi-fi retail background and with his previous studio and record label experience, his commercial and technical skills will enhance our already very talented team and support the profile of the business.”

Ross comments, “I have been a huge fan of PMC loudspeakers since I was a young lad, aspiring to work for such a seminal company in the recording / mastering industry for years.  One of the biggest draws to the business is its seamless transition from professional audio to the hi-fi industry, an accolade very few manufacturers can claim, let alone having played a crucial part in producing most of the music you hear.” He continues, “I am very pleased to be part of this special company and look forward to my role which will be incredibly broad; from providing technical, sales and marketing support, coordinating trade and press shows, all the way to making sure our customers are happy.”
