The Sound Organisation

PMC loudspeakers is bolstering its operations in the USA with the appointment of a dedicated hi-fi specialist distributor to manage all sales and support for the company’s domestic products to ensure a high quality, expert service to retail outlets across the country.

The Sound Organisation, based in Dallas, Texas and owned by British expat, Steve Daniels, has been distributing high quality, and primarily British, hi-fi products for around 15 years to carefully selected retailers.  The appointment of The Sound Organisation enables PMC’s US sales operation to focus solely on the professional market, as its service to the music and movie industry has stepped up significantly over the past few years.

The appointment follows demonstrations of PMC’s twenty series to The Sound Organisation in the US and at the High End Show in Munich.  While not actively seeking to distribute another hi-fi brand, Steve and his team were extremely impressed with the musicality of the range and a distribution deal to cover the twenty series and fact series products was subsequently sealed.

In a model very similar to the typical British hi-fi sales approach, The Sound Organisation uses its in-house team of sales professionals to work very closely with its retail partners to build long-term relationships and ensure they are expertly trained in all aspects of the products and brands being stocked.  This is different from the typical US approach of seeking fast returns with the consequential lack of brand loyalty.

Miles Roberts says of the appointment, “We have always aimed to provide the best possible service to our retailers from our base in Orange County, CA. However, as the time required to service the professional music and movie industries has increased, it has meant our team has had less time to dedicate to our hi-fi retailers.” He continues, “For this reason we felt it best to appoint an independent specialist hi-fi distributor and are delighted that this is The Sound Organisation. Steve and his team have shown they really understand our brand and products and I am hugely confident they will continue to serve our existing retailers and increase PMC’s brand presence across the USA.”

Adding to Miles’ comments, Steve Daniels says, “We were definitely not looking to add another range of products to our portfolio when Mike Picanza, whom I have known for many years, asked if he could come visit us with the new twenty series. What we heard truly blew us away; they were unlike any other speakers any of us had ever heard at the price and we pretty well made up our minds there and then that we needed to distribute this product.”
