The latest PMC ci series Cinema Installation
Approximately 13 miles south of central London, in the beautiful leafy Surrey countryside you’ll find the town of Epsom. Wander along Upper High Street and inside Sevenoaks Sound and Vision you can experience a state-of-the-art cinema demonstration facility thanks to the recent addition of PMC’s ci series.
The 4m x 7m sumptuous cinema room, complete with a bespoke and very inviting sofa, made by a former staff member, has been fully refurbished to provide the opportunity to experience home cinema at its best.
With its 4K projector system and THX style woven acoustically transparent screen, the visual experience is brought to life using three ci65 speakers behind the screen and four ci45 on-wall designs around the room. Soon to be joined by additional ci series products on the ceiling, the cinema will offer a full Dolby Atmos experience for prospective clients.
The managers of the store have wanted to include PMC in the shop’s cinema room for some time and now, with the launch of the ci series, they have been able to fulfil this desire. As Rob puts it, “We’ve always wanted PMC and now we’ve achieved this wish with the incredible sounding and massively flexible ci series.” The front channels see the ci65s being used in their in-wall guise, whereas the sides and rears take advantage of the optional On-Wall-Kit, which transforms the speakers into an elegant on-wall design. “What a brilliant system PMC have devised here – I can’t believe no-one has done it before – it gives us huge flexibility with customers’ installations,” adds Rob.
The installation has been phenomenally successful with those who have heard it instantly recognising the quality of the system, the tonal neutrality, how it blends into the room, and achieves the effect of the sound not actually coming from the speakers, perfectly matching the fluid pictures.
