Key East Asia appointment to drive PMC’s regional growth

Impressive year on year turnover growth in key East Asian markets has led to PMC expanding its sales operation through the appointment of Danny Hon as product support manager to directly service accounts in this rapidly developing region.

Hon, who has over 20 years experience in the distribution of high end audio products for world-class brands in Hong Kong and mainland China, will be responsible for the managing of exisiting distributors and development of new business opportunities across the domestic hi-fi and professional audio sectors.

Recently Danny worked with specialist installation business, Smart Living Technologies on major AV infrastructure projects with five-star hotels in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou. Prior to that he spent three years working with Bang and Olufsen China Section, managing sales and service administration across 23 retail outlets in mainland China.

His earlier career saw him managing sales of high end hi-fi brands from the likes of Burnmaster, Bryston, PMC, Canton and Exposure in Hong Kong for Richcoln Company, PMC’s distributor in the region. This followed a period of five years working for GP Acoustics (HK), owners of the KEF and Celestion brands.

Hon’s considerable experience in the Asian market with well respected brands adds significantly to PMC’s capabilities in one of the world’s fastest growing economies.

Miles Roberts, PMC managing director, commenting on the appointment says, “Our growth in the far east has been phenomenal, thanks largely to the efforts of our regional distributors under the guidance of our sourhern hemisphere sales manager, Andy Duffield. However, Andy is unable to spend as much time as he would like in this one key market and so we have taken to decision to enhance our presence through the appointment of Danny Hon.” He continues, “Danny will work with our existing distributors and Andy to build market presence and further drive our sales growth.
