The legendary mastering engineer Miles Showell will be using our MB2 XBD-Active, the identical loudspeakers he uses in his day job at Abbey Road Studios, where he masters some of the world’s most high profile hits. He’ll be using these loudspeakers to illustrate his talk on mastering and half-speed vinyl cutting techniques - Only PMC speakers provide the resolution to really make music.

About Miles - Miles is an expert in half-speed mastering which he refers to as “the holy grail of vinyl cutting". By cutting at half-speed you give the cutting stylus as well as the whole system twice as long to record the mechanical groove, which hugely improves the quality. Miles is also in demand as an engineer for his live direct to disc work, really capturing the live sound of a performance by recording it live, all analogue, straight to vinyl. He has worked on some of the biggest names in dance, pop and rock in world including; The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Police, Dido, Underworld, Disclosure, Eric Clapton, Faithless, CeeLo Green, The Who, Lana Del Rey and many more – Don’t miss it!
